2022 and 2023 Preparations

Another strange year has presented itself once again.

Everything was in place in January 2023 to cover the BARC CNC Heads Sports and Saloon Championship, HSCC events across the country and the British GT Championship but a finding early on the year put a stop to it all. The PLI insurance was bought, a budget was in place and various accommodation was booked. Then cancer hit!

The problem was identified after a karting session at the Three Sisters race circuit in Wigan. While doing a quick twenty minute session, I hit the curbing on the exit of Luna. This contact caused internal bleeding that led to a trip to the GP and then a refer letter to an oncologist. During the scan, some internal bleeding was found but also cancer in the left kidney.

So the decision was to cancel all accredited meetings in 2023 and just concentrate on covering what I wanted and when I wanted. The difference has meant that trips to Silverstone, Donington and Snetterton have been limited but attendances at Croft, Oulton Park, Three Sisters and Harewood Hill have been a welcome distraction.
